Creative Arts

The Creative Arts Faculty is located in Hillsley and incorporates Food Studies, Media and Visual Arts. In Food Studies we offer students from Years 8 to 12 the opportunity to explore nutrition as well as food preparation and presentation. Media offers students an opportunity to explore how the media contributes to and influences society, as well as develop skills which may encompass screen and media, marketing and advertising, games and interactive media, communication and writing, graphic and communication design, and photography and animation. Visual Arts offers students from ELC to Year 12 the opportunity to explore their creativity in a range of two and three-dimensional artforms, including ceramics, drawing, glass manipulation, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and wearable art. In Visual Communication Design students develop skills in a range of design fields to design messages, objects, environments and interactive experiences.

Visual Arts

Students from all year levels will be working on a range of art forms in the Hillsley studios. VCE students will be working on their Creative Practice, Making and Exhibiting, and Visual Communication Design folios supported by the Visual Arts staff. Examples of student artwork from the whole School are displayed around the building for you to enjoy.

Food Studies

The Year 9 Creative Café and Year 10 Food Studies will be baking in the Hillsley kitchen. Please come along and see our students in action, enjoy the aromas and possibly taste the delicious white chocolate and raspberry muffins.

Media

VCE Media students and teachers will be running a green screen activity in the Hillsley Gallery, where you will also be able to view examples of Unit 4 Media films.
