Our School enjoys the support of many dedicated parents and friends who assist the School and its activities throughout the year in a number of friendly and welcoming associations.
The Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School Parents' Association (IGGSPA), was formed following a merger between the Mothers’ Association (est. 1926) and the Parents and Friends’ Association (est. 1967). It seeks to enhance the School community and provide meaningful connections between parents, friends of the School, staff and students.
This is achieved through:
At the beginning of the year, parent representatives are invited from each class in the Junior School and each year level in the Senior School to coordinate and encourage social interactions between the School and families.
Cooerwull recognises service to the School and provides opportunities for current and past parents, staff and others who have served Ivanhoe Girls’, to meet socially and retain links to the School community. It is also the registered company through which financial donations to Ivanhoe Girls’, such as bequests, are recognised.
Membership is open to anyone who has been a committee member of an Ivanhoe Girls' Association or has been a staff member at Ivanhoe Girls', for five years or more. Financial donations can be made at any time and also provide Cooerwull membership.
Cooerwull activities include:
The Friends of Music support and promote music within the School community.
Some of their activities include:
The Ivanhoe Girls' Snowsports Committee support students involved in Alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing. This voluntary parent Committee strives to ensure all students can enjoy snowsports, regardless of prior experience.
