Tertiary Placements
Congratulations to the Ivanhoe Girls’ Class of 2019 on their tertiary offers. Our talented students have been offered a wide range of courses within Victoria, interstate and internationally.
As in previous years, our Year 12 students have performed strongly and achieved excellent results, with 90% receiving a place in their first or second preference course, 96% receiving a place in a course of their first three choices. One hundred percent of students who applied for a course received a tertiary offer.
Our 2019 Dux and School Vice Captain Hannah Price has been offered a Tuckwell Scholarship to study a double degree in Law (Honours) and PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) at ANU in Canberra. Our 2019 School Captain Georgia Martin has received a Melbourne Principals' Scholarship to study Commerce at The University of Melbourne.
Of our other students who achieved an ATAR score of over 99:
- Anastasia Hatzis has been offered Biomedicine at The University of Melbourne
- Sophia Lim Joon has been offered Science at The University of Melbourne
Our students have chosen courses that suit their interests in 66 different fields of study, including Arts, Biomedicine, Business, Commerce, Criminology, Design, Law, Media, Nursing, Psychology and Science. Vocational pathways chosen by the Class of 2019 include Interior Design and Decoration, and Event Management.
The Class of 2019 also saw a large number of students choosing courses in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) with 58% of the courses selected being STEAM-based. A quarter of our students have chosen to study a course based in Medicine, Biomedicine, Nursing or the Health Sciences.
Please note some students have chosen not to have their tertiary offers published, and have not been included in this Newsletter.
