Amelia learnt to say yes to every opportunity at Ivanhoe Girls'.
Year 12 was definitely my favourite year of high school. While it was hard, challenging and definitely stressful, I became more confident, closer to my peers and enjoyed all the unique opportunities such as the Lorne Conference and being a House Leader.
One of the most important lessons I learnt during VCE was to not be so harsh on myself. I realised that not everything will go smoothly, not every result will be exactly what you want it to be and that’s ok. You can’t always please everyone and be perfect. While it sounds a bit clichéd, just know that everything will always work out in the end as long as you do your best.
I have also learnt to say ‘yes’ to every opportunity that comes my way. High school really is over before you know it, and Ivanhoe Girls’ has the most amazing co-curricular activities and you really don’t want to leave with any regrets. From synchronised swimming to Youth Parliament, I have been able to participate in so many activities.
This year I have decided to study a Bachelor of International Business. My dream is to one day own my own business and travel the world. Although I am excited for this new chapter, I will always cherish my time at Ivanhoe Girls’ and the memories and friends I have made.
