The lead up to the House Performing Arts Carnival is always an exciting time to be at Ivanhoe Girls’.
One of my favourite things about being involved in House Performing Arts is getting to watch all the other Houses perform. Whether its Drama, Music or the Open performance, it’s always amazing to be a part of a performance that’s completely created by my peers.
House Performing Arts rehearsals are always something to look forward to. Rehearsals are always super busy because we don’t have a lot of time to perfect our performances but that just makes them even more fun. Everyone works really hard and puts in lots of effort to remember lines and stage cues, while supporting each other.
Even though I must admit I’m not the best actor, I felt so supported by my friends in my House that I was really excited for our performance. On the day of the Carnival I was a little nervous, but as soon as I was on stage with my friends my nerves evaporated and I just had fun. I came off the stage feeling so proud of our performance. But there was one more exciting thing everyone was waiting for… the results! After putting in lots of hard work and effort it was amazing for Oswald to pull off a win!
However, at the end of the day it isn’t our win I’ll remember from House Performing Arts, but the team work and the memories that I made. Looking back on it, it was challenging but fun. It was an amazing feeling to be part of something that was created and organised by my friends. It’s something that I’m really proud of.
