Ivanhoe Girls’ is proud to announce the appointment of a new Ivanhoe Girls’ Swimming Coach. 

Phil Clark is a highly respected, professional swimming coach with more than 16 years’ experience in learn to swim programs, school physical education programs, club swimming and state and national competitions. 

Phil is driven to ensure his swimmers are provided with the tools to be successful in the pool and in life. 

"I’m looking forward to being a part of the School culture and getting to know the staff and students," says Phil.
 
"I want to create a culture where students are proud to be on the Swim Team and are passionate to carry on swimming well after their schooling," he says. Long term, he would like to see Ivanhoe Girls’ be the premier GSV Swim Team in Division 2 and eventually move into Division 1.

Phil brings to Ivanhoe Girls’ an outstanding background of coaching experience. In 2018, he was one of five Australian Junior Coaches of the Year and received a Special Coaching Achievement at the Australian Age Championships.

Career Highlights
  • Since 2018, Phil has been the Aquatics Manager at Lauriston Girls’ School. In addition, he was the Head Coach of the Lauriston Swim Team and Lauriston Swimming Club, General Manager of the Swimming Club and Business Development Manager of the Learn to Swim Program 
  • Prior to this, Phil was the National and Development Coach at Methodist Ladies College 
  • Between 2008 and 2016, Phil was the State and State Development Coach for the Melbourne Vicentre Swimming Club
  • Between 2014-2016 he was the Head Coach for Korowa Girls’ Swimming
  • From 2012 -2016 he was Swimming Head Coach for Caulfield Grammar.
