Following an extensive recruitment process, Mrs Davina McClure has been appointed to the position of Deputy Principal/Head of Senior School of Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School. Mrs McClure will officially commence in her role on 4 November 2020.
Mrs McClure is currently the Deputy Principal at Kilvington Grammar in Ormond and was appointed in 2017. Her responsibilities include: Teaching and Learning, School Operations, Staffing, People Management and Development and Special Programs. Prior to this, she has held teaching and leadership positions with The Hamilton and Alexandra College (Hamilton), Caulfield Grammar School (Malvern), Korowa Anglican Girls’ School (Glen Iris), St Michael’s Collegiate (Hobart) and Notre Dame College (Shepparton). She holds a Bachelor of Music Education (The University of Melbourne), a Master’s Degree in Educational Management (The University of Melbourne) and a Professional Certificate in Positive Education (The University of Melbourne).
Mrs McClure has taught extensively in Junior School and Senior School environments over 28 years and has broad experience in managing curriculum development and the professional learning of teachers whilst focusing on whole school initiatives. She is an author of educational resources that are used in schools throughout Australia and internationally. Mrs McClure has a strong interest in educational pedagogy and a passion for The Arts. Her work in these areas has inspired deep thinking, creativity and self-expression in students.
