Recently our Year 10 students participated in Business Week. The week focused on building up students' enterprise, team work, critical and creative thinking skills. The week saw them running their own simulated café where they had to allocate roles such as CEO, CFO, Sales and Marketing, Product Design, Website Development Manager and Chef.

Throughout the week students attended presentations from local businesses, chefs and authors, including former local barista Justin Sirianni. Justin spoke about his experiences running his own café - finding a location, planning, design, staffing, marketing and all of the trials and tribulations of starting in an already crowded café industry.

The week culminated in students running their own café market stall, presenting their advertisements and undertaking a “shark tank” style pitch to local business members for financial investment. The cafés were judged by special guest Caroline Khoo, author of I'm Just Here For Dessert.
