While our School community has been enjoying a welcome break over summer, the school grounds have been a hive of activity. Look out for major changes to the Collins Wing and the Prep playgrounds, while the revamped acoustics in the PAC will enhance this wonderful building for years to come.

Congratulations to the 121 girls from the Class of 2016 on their outstanding VCE results. Six girls distinguished themselves by achieving ATAR scores over 99, while 28 students or 23% of the year gained scores over 95 and 51 or 42% gained scores over 90!

As a School we are justifiably proud of the achievements of all the girls and their teachers, which are a culmination of so much commitment and dedication throughout their schooling. Our aim as a School is to enable the girls to achieve their personal best and to perform even more highly than might be expected.

August was a big month for sport in our School calendar, and one of the highlights was the Junior School Mini Olympics.

Held every four years, this year in celebration of the Rio Olympics, the Junior School Mini Olympics gives every Junior School student the chance to participate in a range of fun Olympic sports, test their skills, learn new skills, and understand what the Olympic spirit and fair play is all about.

Since 2011, the annual Amazing Spaghetti Machine Contest provides an innovative platform for Year 10 students across Victoria to put their knowledge and skills in Mathematics, Science, engineering, construction and problem solving to the test in the creation of a ‘Spaghetti Machine’ — an overly complex machine or device that is used to perform a relatively simple task.

Last month we welcomed Tara Moss to the School to speak with our Senior School girls. Tara shared many motivating and inspiring messages that our girls could relate to. She also shared ideas and ways to find their voice and become confident speakers. School Captain, Elena, has written the following personal reflection about Tara's visit and what she has learnt from the experience.
